ECO HOSTEL HOST/ESS – 6 MONTH CONTRACT

ON K’GARI – FRASER ISLAND

This epic opportunity gives you the chance to learn and earn whilst living on Australia’s largest paradise island, for us, Fraser Island’s No1 Tour Company! We are regularly recruit for a full-time Host/ess to take care of our beautiful Eco Hostel on 75 Mile Beach. Most of our awesomely beautiful hosts only stay with us for 6 months due to the visa work restrictions here in Australia. We have had some stay for longer but the record will always be held by our very own Mumma Bear who lived on the island for 6 whole years and longs to return.

The nature of this job means that you have to live on the island for 6 months (minimum length of service) and you must be a highly capable human. This is a fun and energetic job and requires a true legend to rock this position.

As part of your salary package, you will be provided with a double room with en-suite, a food allowance and have access to an island car and a phone. This means your wages are your wages, no rent to pay, no utility bills, no food shopping, just pure savings for you to squirrel away for your future adventures.

Working closely with Mumma Bear your role includes, but is not limited to, rostering the team, volunteer inductions, general admin, housekeeping, decorating, cooking, online shopping and checking in guests.

So what does it take to have the Bear Factor? You must have: 

  • Have outstanding customer service skills
  • Be polite, considerate and conscientious
  • Be a super organised and well-mannered human
  • Demonstrate ‘common sense’
  • Have basic IT Skills
  • Hold a full open drivers licence and be a confident driver
  • and be an all-round legend to work with!
