Be part of something different this October and join Drop Bear Adventures, Ocean Crusaders & Surfrider Foundation for the our first beach clean on K’gari.
As we are all very aware the waste issues effecting our planet, in particular plastics in our oceans, is off the scale and it’s time to do something about it. We cannot continue to sit back and hope that it will be dealt with. The problem is here now and it needs resolving by us who have caused it.
In partnering with Ocean Crusaders & Surfrider Foundation, we hope to spark something and bring together a weekend long event that includes a significant part of doing our bit for the environment combining a chance to explore the world’s largest sand island with the Drop Bear Adventures crew.
Departing on Friday 26th October you will head to the island with 40 other eco-warriors including our Mumma & Poppa Bear! You will be given a briefing and get to spend the afternoon scouting out your cleaning locations. In the evening you will be hosted at the Beachcamp Retreat on K’gari and be provided with dinner whilst enjoying live music in the retreat’s gardens, just a stone throw from the ocean.
Saturday is time to give back to the island! Following a hearty breakfast, you and your clean team will be off around the island to undertake your beach clean. We are not denying it may be a long day but with a fun crew around you, you are bound to have a great day amongst many who will hopefully become future friends! We also promise a scrummy lunch to keep you going into the afternoon.
Saturday afternoon you can kick back and relax at the Beachcamp Retreat with a beer in hand enjoying the evening sunshine. Have a read on a hammock in the garden, take a stroll on the beach, star gaze the beautiful skies and tell stories by the campfire.
Sunday Funday! A trip to the islands glorious Lake Mckenzie. coined as a natural spa you can indulge in the heavenly turquoise blue waters and give yourself a “sand scrub” with the white silica sands. It’s the perfect way to relax following the previous days work. Another yummy lunch and we’ll return you to the mainland drop off locations of Rainbow Beach and Noosa.
We are inviting you to join us for the mere contribution to the cause of just $200 which will go towards covering the operational costs of the weekend. Drop Bear Adventures are subsiding this trip by providing accommodation and food for free. We truly hope to make a real difference and hope for you to join us in paving the way to a brighter and cleaner future for our planet.
