4 Ways to Celebrate World Wildlife Day
The sixth annual World Wildlife Day is approaching this Sunday, 3 March, and it’s a day to recognise all the different animal species across the globe. Although this year’s focus is on marine life, the ultimate goal is to spread awareness on the beauty of different species and the preservation of them.
With that in mind, you may be wondering how you can get in on the action. Here are four great ways you can get involved with this year’s World Wildlife Day.
1. Learn about a new animal
Expanding your knowledge and horizons when it comes to wildlife is a great first step to bettering yourself and stepping foot into supporting World Wildlife Day. Although it can seem a little overwhelming at first, start by learning about a new animal or the different wildlife issues going on around the world.
Here at Drop Bear Adventures, we have our Dingo Watch program, and we love supporting our dingoes that live on Fraser Island. These intelligent and unique animals are of great importance to us and we would love for you to learn more about them!
Be sure to follow our Instagram page as well where we keep tags on the dingoes so we can help people learn more about them and be aware of them!
2. Support an animal organisation
If you’re looking for a more direct means of support to this particular cause, try supporting a wildlife foundation through donations or fundraising. Organisations like the WWF and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy are just a couple of groups working for a great cause.
If you’re interested in helping one of these organisations, be sure to reach out to them and see what steps you can help with within their overall mission. Whether it’s helping spread their latest campaign advertisements or helping them plan a fundraising event, these types of groups usually love receiving inquiries and desires to help better their goals.
3. Take a tour with us
For the most memorable World Wildlife Day, try joining us for an excursion that will leave you with a lifetime of memories. We’re offer 3 day/2 night Beach Camping Adventures as well as a 2 day/1 night Great Lakes Escape tour that are a great way to see the wonderful wildlife on K’gari – Fraser Island.
Our Fraser Island tours are great opportunities to not only spend time with friends and meet new people, but also for experiencing the outdoors and some pretty cool wildlife and natural landscapes that you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to see otherwise.

4. Share your support
Don’t be afraid to spread messages and campaigns with your friends and family about causes that are meaningful too. Word of mouth is always the best way to communicate important facts and ideas, but social media is becoming a great way to spread support for these organisations too.
Be sure to be on the lookout for infographics or tweets from wildlife organisations that they want to share or go viral. It may seem small, but it’s an extremely impactful and simple way to share a message.
